Cool thing of the week

The cultural basis of its cuisine is the small farmhouse, and many of the dishes are prepared using locally produced vegetables and meats, especially chicken and pork. The best-known dish from Minas Gerais is "pão de queijo", a small baked roll (known internationally as "Brazilian cheese rolls") made with cheese and cassava flour that can be served hot as an appetizer or for breakfast.

  1. In Japan (especially my city) we have quite a large Brazilian population. I often find these in my local bakery and absolutely love them. I knew they didn't taste "Japanese" (cheese, really?). But now I know where they came from. Thank you for solving that mystery.

    1. Glad I could help Terry! I'm very excited about eating these. Can't really think of anything better than cheesy bread.

  2. Found a coupon for Brazilian cheese rolls at Whole Foods. I plan on buying some and will think of you when I eat them.
